How it was started?

Doctors working in Dr. Hedgewar Rugnalaya, Aurangabad, Maharashtra, started the activity in 1997. Initially the members of Sevankur were limited, and most of them were from government medical college Aurangabad only. Gradually the size of the group grew and work expanded in many colleges, across the state of Maharashtra. To facilitate the networking, fast communication and expanding its base still wider, needed the digital support.

Lacunae

Health care personnel are not trained enough in communication skills, dedication, commitment, social awareness etc. Sevankur is an interactive platform of the students, for the students and by the students to build up their personalities which will fill up the lacunae. The impact of frequent interaction with role models in different walks of life in formative age contributes to overall personality development of a student. Exposure visit to different environment, geographical area widens the horizons of student. That connects the student to real life situations. Only text book reading and scoring good marks is not sufficient for good and caring health care professional.

Aims and objectives

The motive of Sevankur is to inculcate principles of value based ethical medical practice and social awareness along with national integration by participating in different activities organized by Sevankur. ‘Nation first’ is our focus in organizing any activity. The decorum of the program is such that it leaves desired impact of national integration on participant. Every minor details of the event are, planned and executed by the students.
